What Does Your Business Have in Common With Airports?
In Seth Godin’s blog, “Ten things organizations can learn from airports”, he attests airports don’t understand that the way they run things (impersonal and profit driven) can really hurt their bottom line. Airports may presume we have no choice, but we do…we can stay home. Your customers have a choice too. They can go somewhere else. Which may make you wonder- what are you doing that will make them stay?

The best thing we can all do to make sure customers stay put is to provide quality customer service and the best way to provide great customer service is by having business management software that provides insight and control. In business, knowledge is power and having real-time access to that knowledge is crucial to your success.

If you feel like your business insight and control is not up to par with the customer service you wish to provide, contact us at call 425.277.4760 or email to set up a call. As our valued customer, our goal is to ensure your customers stay put.

Microsoft Dynamics GP March hotfix – 941 Form
There will be a new 941 form releasing for US Payroll in Microsoft Dynamics GP.  Please keep in mind 941’s are legally due by end of April for Quarter 1 (January, February, and March).  This is only releasing for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 and GP 2013.   The target release will be week of 3/25/13.
Please be aware of the following changes around the 941 form:
  • Line 5d is new “Taxable Wages & Tips Subject to Additional Medicare Tax Withholding”
Two new columns, column 1 and column 2
5d column 1 amounts:  these are the taxable wages & tips over $200,000
5d column 2 amounts:  amount of column 1 multiplied by .009

  • 941 form layout changes
Do you need to install it?
If you do not have any employees that make over $200,000 in Q1 and you do not “print” to our actual form, you may be OK without installing this update.
What about customers on Microsoft Dynamics GP 10?

Microsoft Dynamics GP 10 customers will need to run the old report and manually do any calculations needed, or upgrade to a supported version of GP.

If you run into any fraction errors please remember the support blog about the FICA rounding and the scripts you may need to run to adjust the penny differences.  The blog that has links to all patches and scripts to fix the amount can be found here.

This will be posted on the tax update pages listed below.
